MyGreen GENE

Is a project that celebrates the Nigerian heritage and achievements by showcasing the stories, talents, and contributions of Nigerians across the world. The project aims to inspire pride and unity among Nigerians, as well as to challenge the negative stereotypes and perceptions that often surround Nigeria and its people.

GENE

A metaphor for the Nigerian identity, culture, and excellence that is passed down from generation to generation. Just as genes are the carriers of genetic information that determine the traits and characteristics of an individual, the Nigerian gene is the essence of what makes a Nigerian unique, resilient, and brilliant. The project uses the colour green to represent the Nigerian gene, as it is the dominant colour of the Nigerian flag and symbolizes the natural beauty and diversity of the country.

Adewumi Adisa

Is the founder and visionary of the MyGreen GENE project, who started it in 2015 with a mission to protect and promote Nigeria’s true essence. Adewumi is a passionate young Nigerian who believes in the potential and greatness of his country and its people. He initiated the project to document and share the stories of Nigerians who have made remarkable impacts in various fields and sectors, both locally and globally.

Living Legacy

The idea that MyGreen GENE is not just a concept, but a bridge that connects the past, present, and future of Nigeria and its people. The project honours the legacy of the Nigerian ancestors who fought for independence and freedom, as well as the current generation of Nigerians who are making positive changes and innovations in the world. The project also hopes to inspire the next generation of Nigerians to embrace their heritage and continue the legacy of excellence.

MyGreenGene Magazine

A quarterly publication that features profiles, interviews and articles on Nigeria’s most outstanding achievers and various aspects of Nigerian culture. It is available online, in print, and on mobile apps. It has also attracted the attention of international libraries. already garnered the attention of international libraries such as the UK and Irish Legal Deposit Libraries, which include Oxford University’s Bodleian Library, the Cambridge University Library, National Library of Scotland, National Library of Wales, and the library of Trinity College, Dublin. These libraries have subscribed to be provided with a copy of every edition of the magazine.

GPLUS Awards

An annual event that recognises individuals, groups and organisations that have upheld and reflected the true Nigerian heritage. It is the occasion for which the web page is written.

GPLUS Carnival

A Nigerian Independence Day celebration that showcases the beauty in the diversity of the Nigerian nation. It is especially useful for Nigerians born in Diaspora.

MyGreenGene Online Resource Centre

A comprehensive online hub that provides information about the Nigerian heritage. It collaborates with Nigerian embassies, galleries, institutions, groups, and organisations across the world.

MyGreenGene Interactive Resource Centre

A platform that fosters direct engagement with the Nigerian culture through various activities, such as art gallery exhibitions, tourism opportunities, and business exposure. It also offers relevant information on Nigerians in Diaspora.
